Traveling to Cancun :

Most tourists arrive in Cancun by landing at the Cancún International Airport (CUN): Approximate driving time is 20 minutes and distance is 13 miles to the Cancun Hotel Zone.

How Get To Cancun :
Cancun, Mexico is easily accessible from most major U.S. cities. Cancun is 3 hours from New York and Chicago, and 4 hours from Los Angeles. Airlines that service Cancun include American, Alaska, Continental, Delta, United, Northwest, USAirways, Aviacsa, Mexicana, and AeroMexico.

There are also discount charters from Suntrips, Pleasant Holidays, Funjet Vacations, Apple Vacations, Worry Free Vacations, and Sunship1.

Driving directions from Cancún International Airport: Take airport access road going east and follow signs to Zona Hotelera and Blvd Kukulcan. Proceed north about seven miles on Blvd Kukulcan, to the Punta Cancún area. The Girasol Condo will be on the right, nearly in front of Sr. Frogs Restaurant.

Authorized taxis, minivans (or collectivos), are the best way to make the journey from the airport to the Girasol Condos for around $30 per group (Don't pay per person) this figure is always changing. Transportation options can be accessed as you exit the terminal. We recommend the last booth on the right as you exit the terminal. The charge is currently $9 per person. The sign will say "Shuttle & Ground Transportation". Air conditioned vans and suburbans are used exclusively. Collectivos provide transportation to downtown Cancún: $5-$15 USD. A private car service to your condo can be arranged: more than $36 USD. Rental cars are available at the airport and on this Web site: more than $36 USD. Note: Only authorized taxis are allowed to transport guests from the airport to the hotel zone. However, all taxis can take passengers to the airport from the Girasol for $15 to $20.

Getting around: The hotel is located within Zona Hotelera, or Hotel Zone and is within walking distance of the Cancún Convention Center and plenty of shopping, restaurants, and bars. Public and private buses connect the Hotel Zone to downtown: less than $1 USD. Once downtown, most tourist attractions are easily accessible by walking. Taxi rates in Cancún are determined by zones and the minimum fare within the Cancún Hotel Zone is $5 USD per ride. Taxis can be rented by the hour or day if you want to visit the historic ruins outside of the city: more than $36 USD. Always negotiate your taxi fare before beginning your trip. Rental cars offer a convenient way to visit historic points outside the city: price is negotiable. Mopeds are a convenient, yet extremely risky, way to get around the city and islands: $26-$35 USD.
