4/13/10 What can I say, love my guide, love his wife. First night went to Carlos & Charles’. Music was great, staff was way cool. Fun, Fun for all & food is the best ever.

The view here is perfect. I have never seen such beautiful water. Great therapy, especially at night. The waves just put you to sleep. Weather is mild. I will be back for more R & R. The beach is so beautiful. White sand.

The restaurants are great. You are not in Mexico. The strip is happening. Porsches, Hummers, Lamborgini, just expensive cars all over. Again, not Mexico!

My stay here will be a memory that will stay in my heart for a long time. I will be back. The girls loved it here. So much to do, not enough time! This is paradise. The Jewel of Mexico.

So may malls to shop, wife loved that! We went over to some Mayan Ruins (Coba). This was a great treat. Can’t believe how clean this Island is. I love the location of our Condo. Walking distance from all, clubs, restaurants, shopping & music. “Senor Frogs” is where we will be at tonight. Again, Great Friends, Great Place, Fun for all ages. Best Guide ever; Mike. I will suggest Cancun to all my friends and family.

4/2/10 Had a great time in Penthouse 9. Weather was perfect and did a lot of sightseeing. Xelha, Coba & Tulum. Toured with out 3 kids ages 5 to 12. Easy drive, roads well marked and maintained. Kids loved the BLU restaurant at La Isla Mall. Patio seating with playground and fountain to play in while awaiting food. Food and fish tacos were great!

Carlos & Charlie’s was also great for kids. Watched UNC in the NIT tournament in many bars and husband watched his Duke in NCAA!

Spent great time on the beach and at the pools at Girasol. Best location on the Island. Jus the break we all needed! We would like to come again. Great time.

2/27/10 Chris & I came to see Cancun and visit the Dentist, Dr. Javier Loria, that the condo owners, Mike & Janet Weese have used for many years.

Chris had been quoted $10k-$12k by her Dallas Dentist for the work she needed. Dr. Javier Loria quoted her $5,000 before seeing her, based on what our Texas Dentist had quoted. Upon arrival, Chris was told she didn’t need all those items quoted. We paid a TOTAL of $2700. We had a great vacation, stayed in the very best location in Cancun and save enough to return again very soon. Thanks to Mike and Janet for everything. We will be back.

2/18/10 We visited Cancun in late February, 2010 with a group of friends. Our trip was wonderful, and this condo is honestly in the best location you can imagine. We didn't rent a car, didn't need it. Every night, we only walked a block to get to the fun. If you like nightclubs, definitely check out Coco Bongo; it's part nightclub, part Vegas show...we loved it! The beach was great, with plenty of nice white sand, good waves, and lots of seashells to collect. The Girasol building is a little bit older, and shows its age, but our condo was well-maintained and clean. It definitely fit our needs, and I felt like we got a good value for our money. Nothing fancy, but perfect for us. Teri & Friends

8/18/09 Cancun is very beautiful. The beach is great, and there are many fun activities. My family and I enjoyed our stay here very much. The staff here is very friendly and Los Girasoles is in an excellent location.
TIPS:
*go to ek balam, chichen itza, and tulum.
*the bread at chedraui (a store) is yummy.
*every place here has "the best prices in all of mexico", but I think otherwise.
*make sure everything works, if something doesn't work, make sure to report it.
*read the instruction in the kitchen.
*after a tropical storm, the waves are awesome! (in parent speak, big and dangerous)
Thank you!

8/8/09 One glorious summer day a large family of 9 came and vacationed in a condo, just off of one of the best parts of Cancun, Mexico. They spent their days giggling and laughing as they threw mud at one another on the beach, drove in a 15-passenger to visit Mayan Ruins & snorkeling off of Xel Ha and Isla Mujeras. They found getting a tour guide at Tulum, Chichen Itza, Coba & Ek Balam very informative and worthwhile. They would highly recommend that to anyone. One day, one of the children left a plastic knife out with nutella on it…shortly after, there were ants all over. Learning from that mistake, food of all sorts were found best kept in the refrigerator.

*Top Things Every Guest Should Know! *
*WalMart is so worth the drive.
*Don't eat at the restaurant down stairs - over priced - not yummy.
*No more than $5 USD for jewelry (unless silver…925 on back)
*The flea market across the street is same as everywhere else… if you find something you like, buy it.
*Chichen Itza…Ek Balam & Tulum are musts! Ek Balam- my favorite.
*Xel Ha is a nice place for those 18 & younger. Snorkeling…not good
*Isla Mujeres is a nice day trip with a guided company
*Get up early and watch the sunrise…Breathe taking!
* Walk the beach at night, that's when all the crabs are out.
*Recommend this place to everyone. It's amazing.

5/6/09 Thank-you Mike and Janet for the use of your home away from home. Myself and six others stayed at your PH #9 condo from 04/28/09-05/06/09 and I must say we all had a great time. The view was amazing, as well as the location. We were in walking distance to all the big nightclubs, the flea market, Senor Frogs etc., and of course right on the beach of the nicest ocean, with its many shades of blue. The staff was very helpful, especially Serge, he will help you with anything you need. I recommend this condo to anyone who wants to be right in the heart of all the action and for sure we would stay there again. Thank-you again for making our first trip to Cancun a vacation we will never forget. Ronalda O.& Guests

4-22-09 We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Cancun. Thank you for the use of your lovely, and very well located, condo.
Thank you again.

4-20-09 Our April 2009 trip to cancun was exciting and eventful. Our stay at Girasol Condos made the trip even better. We stayed in Penthouse #10. Our condo was not only clean and comfortable, but it was convenient as well. Girasol is located walking distance to so many shops and restaurants and if you needed to go someplace farther, there was a busstop virtually across the street. The views in our condo were simply breathtaking. From the view of the ocean to the view of the lagoon, it was all incredible. And as for the beach, that's right out back. Both the beach and the pool were clean, relaxing, and fun. My family and I would definitely love to go back. Jaeson, Minnesota

I want to thank you for making the condo available to us for the spring break. We enjoyed the stay, the staff was very helpful, the beach time was what we needed, and the trip to Tulum and Xelha was rewarding. The spring break college kids - well - they provided a certain amount of loud amusement.
Enjoy.

2/20/09 Thank-you for an amazing week Mike and Janet! We had a fabulous stay in Penthouse #9 and couldn't have been more happier with our condo. We were literally in the perfect location and really couldn't have been that much closer to the bars or restaurants, which made all of our friends staying in resorts farther down the strip extremely jealous, especially when they had to take the bus
everyday. One of our favorite parts of the trip was when we took the catamaran booze cruise. It was a four hour cruise on a catamaran which included snorkeling and unlimited drinks. We would definitely recommend this trip! Coco Bongo is also a must see... the shows were incredible. The guest closet in the condo also came in very handy for us...we especially loved the backpack chairs!
All in all an awesome trip and we cannot wait to come back!

12-20-08 We really enjoyed our visit to Cancun. Your condo location is the best that we saw. We had a few unsettling moments with the rental car people, but in the end, it worked out okay, and with the condo, with the elevator, etc. And yes, we ended up having to fly from Denver to San Jose (instead of Seattle), and driving home. There were no buses, trains, planes, etc. as the saying goes. We were better off than most people though cuz we didn't have to stay overnight at an airport. We arrived home Tuesday night to a frozen water pump on our well, and the saga goes on, BUT, Cancun was beautiful and we will go back, but I think this year, our trip where ever it will be, will be after Christmas. Your restaurant there had great food for a good price and the people were really nice. So thank you for everything. It seemed when you arrived, we felt much more comfortable. I would recommend your condo to anyone. Thanks for sending my deposit back. I know we left in a hurry but we had to return the rental car and didn't want to miss our plane. See ya next time. It sucks to be in the rain/snow now, but there are always the memories of Cancun. The Powers Family
8-8-08 Our stay at Mikes' condo has been very relaxing. The most important part of any hotel or condo is comfort. We certainly experienced that here in PH #10. We were a group of 8, and managed to all eat, sleep, bathe and relax comfortably. Whenever we needed sheets, towels or pretty much anything the crew downstairs was very accommodating. We certainly experienced the heat outside, but as soon as we returned to the condo the air conditioning was very cold and refreshing. The most enjoyable part above everything else was the amazing view!! We're literally right on the beach! Both balconies overlook the beautiful, clear turquoise water. You can feel the breeze from the railing, and hear the waves crashing at night. It's only a short walk, down the elevator and a set of stairs to the beach. The lounge chairs under the palapas were awesome. It was nice to sit in the shade by the pool and still see the ocean. We particularly enjoyed the location of the condo which is within walking distance of some great night clubs. Overall, it was a very quaint and comfortable condo. A+! Diana K.
6-29-08 We found the condo on line and decided to try a private rental vs hotel. We loved it! Loved the location, loved the beach which is far nicer than the others in our opinion. Loved the Iguana restaurant personnel and food. Both Sergio's were great and made us feel at home! This was our third visit and being next to all the amenities, night life and shopping made it easier for us. We too read about Hurricane Wilma and thought how sad and devastating that was. We learned that the entire island/peninsula is still working on areas that were damaged. We definitely will consider staying here again and will recommend it to our friends and family. The Equibels &
One Manzanares
5-5-08 Enjoyed reading your book on Hurricane Wilma. It was lucky (?) you were here to help restore afterwards. Saw a turtle in water directly off the deck the first morning. You seem to have a "regular" that sits on the Satellite Dish left of the upper deck. We had lots of play time on the beach. Our 8 year old granddaughter sure enjoyed being part of the dancing at Senor' Frogs. We had a great time at the "La Isla" Shopping Center with the Aquarium. A must, see it all! It is (the shopping village) much bigger than it looks goes way back. The buses take you there or like us, walk on way 30-35 minutes and ride one way. Thank you for sharing your place with us! The Toons, Walla Walla
4-12-08 Fun, Relaxing time. Beware = Booze Cruise, waste of dollars. Not very boozie! Co Co Bongo on Saturday night = too many locals and too crowded! Almost dangerous! Our 3rd year to stay… we keep coming back! Great location with teen aged kids! We’re a close family and the Girasol seems to make us even closer! The Smiths
4-10-08 Had a wonderful and relaxing stay with our family. Really enjoyed the breeze and waves as well as the great view. Swimming was great too. We visited Chichen Itza, Tulum & Xel Ha. All 3 were well worth the time. Rent a car and go on your own to Tulum & Xel Ha. Try to get to Xel Ha before lunch to enhoy the full day there. Bring sun hats to visit the ruins! El Pescador in town was very nice and good prices. El Mortero just up the road was great for Mexican food. Argentine Steak House was excellent! HAVE FUN! The Watson Family
4-06-08 We stayed here Nov. 21-27, 2006. Your penthouse is beautiful. Cancun is beautiful. We had such a good time here. We defiantly are coming back. We loved just sitting outside watching the waves roll in. We also traveled to Chichen Itza. That place is so amazing. We recommend going there to everyone. We also loved just walking around and shopping. Thank you for providing this beautiful condo for us to stay in. The Ramirez Family The Ramirez Family
4/2/08 Our group had such a great time at the condo. The Weese's condos are the most cared for in the whole complex. They are decorated and painted very nicely with plenty of room and beds. The views from the balconies of the downtown area and the ocean are amazing and the location is the best in Cancun. The Condos are located right on the beach with pools downstairs and every important bar/club in the city is within walking distance. This is a big deal because nighttime traffic is awful and our group never had to worry about leaving early to go out at night.

I also cannot sing Mike and Janet's praises loud enough. We had a little accident at the condo and their support got everything taken care of very easily. Mike and Janet got back to us and answered every question we had in a timely manner throughout planning the trip and even when we there. They were a pleasure to deal with and I would definitely recommend their places to anyone who is visiting Cancun.

3/28/08 I just wanted to thank you once again for the condo rental in Cancun. The condo was great and was actually what we were looking for. Everyone from the trip loved everything and it was a great week in Cancun. I was actually surprised how close we were to all the action. Thanks so much. Reginald Nazaire, Mass
03/24/08 We had a great time at your place and you location is fabulous. I had to leave on Friday because of work and the rest of my party left on Saturday. I spoke to them and everything was in good order when they checked out. Again I appreciate your hospitality and I will certainly recommend your condo in the future. Jeff Browning
03/07/08 Our group rented Penthouses #9 & #10 and Unit #612-2 the week of May 27th, 2007. We really had a great week. The weather was terrific -- really wasn't too hot until the day we left. We absolutely loved the view from our units and the location was everything!!! Our kids (aged 18-24 were able to walk to just about everywhere they wanted to go). The beach and water were just gorgeous. We were able to get out and SCUBA and snorkel a few days and really enjoyed it. We rented a beach umbrella and enjoyed being served drinks down on the beach. We also ate (and drank) at the restaurant and thought the food was good and very reasonable. Everyone was great! The elevator worked fine – it was just down the day we got there for about ½ hour or so for a service check. It was disappointing waking up without seeing the ocean this morning, but we had to get back to reality some time. Thanks again to the owners, Mike and Janet, for all the help in getting me info, hooking me up with transportation, etc. We hope to be returning soon!

Hello from Montana:

We three grandmothers (myself, Sheila and Catherine) arrived home to a winter wonderland. In December we decided that we would escape the winter and find and warm, fun place to spend two weeks. We knew we wanted a condo with a small kitchen, two bedrooms, an ocean view and a place we could call our home away from home. The #9 penthouse at Girasol was the perfect fit.

Girasol is perfectly located for those without a car. It is in walking distance to the Forum (a large shopping mall) where we kept in touch with our families in Montana by using the Internet Café; buses came by every ten minutes or so and enabled us to explore the “downtown Cancun” area; Senor Frog was just across the street; the beach was gorgeous and the hotel personnel were so helpful, kind and understanding.

Exploring the unknown is always a challenge and a delight. The next meal was always top of the list. We discovered “The Cove” for a delectable Sunday brunch. It overlooked the public beach where families were having a great day in the ocean, the weather was perfect. Who could ask for anything more? One evening we took the Caribbean Carnival boat to Isla Mujeres for dinner and a show on the island. By the time we got home we were all doing the bunny hop and singing Mexican songs. Xcaret was another outing – it is amazing what they have carved out of the jungle. I’d describe it as an ecological theme park with a “don’t miss” evening show. Of course, Chichen-itza was amazing. Those Mayan people were remarkable. If you go to the night light show, be aware that the hour program is in Spanish (unless otherwise noted). One of us opted to sit in the hotel and have marguerites – smart gal.

Would we return – yes. If Cancun is on our itinerary we would hope that we could return to #9 Penthouse and settle in.

02/15/08 Mike, sorry about the delayed response. The condo and the staff were wonderful. I was having a little trouble with the laptop I brought and was unable to access my e-mail until I returned home. We had a wonderful time.

08/30/07 Our Stay in PH4
Tue, 28 Aug 2007
Greetings Mike,

After a great long vacation at Girasol my parents have returned back home, returned to work as of Monday and I'm just getting the opportunity to breath a little.

We all agreed that your place was perfect and had all the necessary tools for a great trip. We also took good care of the place. Hopefully we can return to Cancun again in the future and we will absolutely consider Girasol again. During our stay you provided a binder that included information about the facility and policy on reimbursement, which was very helpful.

As you know, we had to leave PH4 due to Hurricane Dean and Lucy and her crew removed sliding glass doors, windows, and furniture from the apartment. I was wondering if we meet your policy for reimbursement for the two nights we had to go somewhere else. In turn, we stayed at Carrillo's hotel for 2 nights (paying double). Please let me know what you think.

Best regards,
Andrea Rossato

REPLY: Absolutely Andrea.
It prorates out to $162.50 per night. We've sent a check to you for the $325 plus your $200 deposit, a total of $525. I'm glad all were safe during the Hurricane and look forward to serving you or your friends again in the future.

Thanks. Mike and Janet Weese.

My husband and I and two of our friends spent the week of March 16, 2007 to March 24, 2007 in Mike's penthouse 9 condo.  The condo was clean and well stocked.  It was a treat to find we had beach chairs and umbrella and boogie boards available to us.  One of the two elevators has been replaced and both were working just fine.  The location was perfect for walking to the night life and restaurant areas.  Mike's instructions for using the bus system for grocery shopping and getting into downtown Cancun were accurate and easy to follow.  Using the bus system is the best and cheapest way to get around town.  We took the ferry to Isla Mujeres and spent the day sightseeing and enjoying the water.  The water is much calmer on the beach at Isla.  Mike and Janet have been great to work with.  Mike went out of his way to retrieve some clothing that was left behind, alas; the cleaning crew had discarded it.  We are looking forward to returning to Cancun and one of Mike's condo very soon.

Mike and Janet, It was awesome! The weather was great. We did not want to come home. Thanks to Teresa, we did receive all our clothes in time. It was extremely kind of her to do that for complete strangers. We were very grateful. Our
boys had met Brittany at the pool so it was cool to find out she was your granddaughter. The staff....I can’t say enough good things about them. They were the best. George saw to it that we had a great time. Him and my dad hit it off right away. We are definitely planning on a return trip. Thank you for renting your penthouse to us! I hope we left everything the way we were supposed to. I do owe you for two pairs of goggles because I didn't realize they were in my beach bag until we returned home. Please let me know the cost, Sorry!  All of your suggestions and travel tips were very helpful. The location of your condo was so convenient. Thank you so much!

 Hi, Mike-
My husband, Patrick, and I had a GREAT time! Everyone was super nice.
Patrick was actually going to drop you guys a line to let you know how much we appreciated all your tips & how much we enjoyed you sharing your home with us. We hung out at Market 28 quite a bit eating at Margelys and enjoying a more authentic taste of Mexico. My husband lived in San Miguel de Allende for a while growing up and we both like to have a more cultural experience when we travel. We honeymooned in Cancun 15 years ago and boy has it changed. We also appreciated your recommendation of Sorianos as an alternative to Wal-Mart. The Cineopolis was closed for construction....so we will have to go there on our next visit. We would like to get back there more often. We love Mexico & Belize! Thanks for checking in & thanks again for everything. Oh, and I did set up the
final cleaning with Lucy on Sunday, so the place should be shining for your next arrival. :) Thanks again, Kit

We stayed in PH#9 and had a great stay with our 2 teens. The place is an easy walk to lots of restaurants, shops, taxi & bus service and clubs. The place is comfortable and easy access to beautiful beach and pool area. View and sea breezes are wonderful. Have Fun!

My wife and I stayed in Unit 612-2 from Jan 25 - Feb 1, 2007, along with our 3 kids aged 9, 5, and 1. We had a great time. The weather, pool, beach, and location were all great. Aside from pool and beach days, we also found time to make it into Cancun City (on the local bus), Crococun Park, Wet N Wild, the Interactive Aquarium, and a bunch of local restaurants - the kids thought Senor Frog's was insane, and they were right. They were all a big hit. Girasol staff was all very friendly and helpful. It was also nice to have the option of eating nearby vs having to take a cab or bus to a restaurant further away. The OXXO a few doors down kept us well-stocked with food and cold cerveza. All in all, a great vacation. The 9-year-old would have stayed another month, the 5-year-old was played out (had fun but was ready to go home), and the little one just went with the flow and smiled a lot. Don't forget to bring a portable crib if you have really small kids. We hope to be back, maybe in one of the penthouses as the kids get older.

Girasol Cancun has been wonderful for me and friends as vacation accommodations in January 2 years in a row, and WILL do it again!! Hurricane Wilma still has lasting effects at Girasol and the entire area, but can't think of better place to spend my vaca money, and money stretches just fine there. Girasol is close to Ruins El Ray(real kings ruin w/iguanas included, only $3.50 American, Isla Mujearas (I snorkeld alot), Market 28(too much fun), Bubba Gump's seafood restaurant, Harley Shop that was advertised in America as bike shop???but has a BAR(funny)did buy my ol man a t-shirt there, and more and more. Girasol staff Serghao and son Sergio, Manuel, Lucy, Pablo and more are so accommodating and reliable, relaxing enough that even I trust them, and even though I speak pig Spanish they like even me.. If I had the $$ I would so live at Girasol Cancun.

Our spring break group of approximately 25 people stayed at the Girasol. Staying there was the best decision we made all break. It really is about all about the warm hospitality from Mike & Janet and the perfect loci. It was a home away from home. Couldn't have asked for a better place with a better price for college student vacationers!

I stayed at the Girasol (PH9) from 20 May until 27 May. The Girasol has an excellent location, for walking around the "party center". When we happened to be there, the Girasol, was very low on tenants, so, we sort of had the place to ourselves (there was maybe 2 or 3 other units w/ people in it, from what I can see).
The PH9 was nice. Everything you could need was in there. I'd stay there again........Dave

Our family just returned from staying in one of Mike's condo's from 7/8/05 to 7/15/05. The location is excellent, just minutes from Senior Frogs, and the center of activities in Cancun. Nice beaches with the best views of Cancun. Mike is a concerned and gracious owner who sincerely wants his guests to have a great time! While the building is older, Mike's condos are excellent, nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. Our family of 6, including 2 older children ages 21 and 19 had a great time. The older kids "hit the clubs" at night and were within 5 minutes walking distance. The condo accomendated our family quite nicely. My strongest reccomendation is for Mike and the personal service he imparts. He is a genuine and honest condo owner deeply concerned about the well-being of his guests!

We stayed in PH10 for 10days June9-19. At first appearance the building is quite old and in need of repair (the elevators)! But overall the condo itself was very nice and clean. Had everything you needed and has beautilful views. Mike was very nice and helpful during our stay. Suggested a great seafood restaurant and told us all the bus routes and where to shop, also what to avoid. My kids had a great time being beach bums. It was a nice home away from home. Would love to come back without the kids and maybe some friends!
